Pinochet said he may soon move his residence, and probably the army command headquarters, to Iquique, and establish the first army corps.
The newspaper said Cardoen, 48, used his Santiago headquarters to ship the bombs to Baghdad, via Iraqi Airways or by ship from the port of Iquique, Beydoun said.
Radio Cooperativa reported about 100 people were detained during disturbances in Iquique, 1,100 miles north of Santiago.
But people were arrested during two anti-Pinochet demonstrations in Vina del Mar and Iquique.
