Eroica [e'rәuikә]
Symphony(贝多芬的)《英雄交响曲》(即《降E大调第三交响曲》)
- Conductor Michael Gielen, who followed Beethoven's controversial metronome markings in his 1981 "Eroica" for Vox Cum Laude with the Cincinnati Symphony, takes the work at an even faster clip than Mr. Hogwood does.
- The funeral march from Beethoven's Eroica symphony appears throughout, and at the end of the score Strauss wrote "In Memoriam," presumably for a destroyed Germany.
