In order to improve the structure carrying capacity and the traffic ability,the paper put forward a method of using steel flakes to widen both sides of the bridge to reinforce the upper part of the double-curved arch bridge.Then the stress changes of the main arch ring(arch rib) before and after reforming were analyzed and calculated using finite element analysis software based on stress redistribution theory.The feasibility and rationality of the method were demonstrated.
